Software KVM (aka "free ranging mouse")

Some of us have made good use of Mouse without Borders, a free software KVM switch product from Microsoft.
Mouse without Borders is a product that makes you the captain of your computer fleet by allowing you to control up to four computers from a single mouse and keyboard. This means that with Mouse without Borders you can copy text or drag and drop files across computers.
An updated version (10/1/2015) of the program is available at this web page. If your "free ranging mouse" has become erratic recently, you may like to install the new version, especially if you have upgraded to Windows 10. Be sure to install the same version on all computers.

Alternatives to Mouse without Borders are listed in this article. Included are products that are cross-platform, so if you have a mixture of Windows, Mac OS X and/or Linux computers, you can choose one from this list. The best known is probably Synergy.
Synergy combines your desktop devices together in to one cohesive experience. It's software for sharing your mouse and keyboard between multiple computers on your desk. It works on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

Full-HD Voice is Nearly Here

See this article in IEEE Spectrum about the evolution to full-HD telephone audio. It contains some background about the current wired and wireless network designs that have hampered the implementation of better voice quality of the kind that many of us have experienced when using Skype or Google Voice between computers and smart phones. The coming full-HD audio will be even better. John WA5MLF
